What does higher resistance mean?

Resistance, discovered by Georg Simon Ohm in 1827 (hence the designation Ohm to define the amount of resistance), is the ratio between voltage and current. The higher the resistance, the higher the amount of electricity passing through the circuit is lost / converted to heat.
