SATA stands for Serial ATA which is a interface to connect your hdd, ssd and dvd/ cd devices. SSD stands for Solid State Drive and is a new way of mass storage in which data is stored on flash chips and there is no moving parts in this. ... It is still more common for bulk storage because SSD is a bit costly.
