What is an ohmic material?

Ohm's Law says that the current flowing through a resistor is directly proportional to the voltage across it (as long as temperature is constant) explaining ohmic behavior of conductors. However when the current is not directly proportional to the voltage, non-ohmic behavior can be observed.
