And why is there a limit? Generally the longest you should try to run an Ethernet cable is 90-100 meters. Electrical signals degrade over long distances, especially when you're talking super-thin wires like the ones in Ethernet cables. The faster we push data, the more sensitive the data becomes to that degradation.Mar 1, 2018');})();(function(){window.jsl.dh('_n-htYJHpMtvH0PEPup6IqAk45','
There are a few different versions of ethernet cable, but they all have a maximum distance of 100 meters (328 feet). It should be noted that Cat7 cable has harsher distance limits than Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a.Feb 7, 2019

No. Specs for ethernet are 100 meters or about 300 feet. ... 100ft is too long for 10Gbps Ethernet but for everything up to 1Gbps it should be OK.
