A4989SLDTR-T by Allegro MicroSystems is a micro-stepping bipolar stepper motor driver integrated circuit. With output currents up to 2 A per phase, it is intended to operate bipolar stepper motors in full-, half-, quarter-, eighth-, and sixteenth-step modes. In order to lessen noticeable motor noise and vibration, the A4989SLDTR-T has the ability to operate in mixed decay mode. Moreover, it has a fixed off-time current regulator with a variety of decay modes that may be tuned for best performance in a particular application. The device has built-in protective features like thermal shutdown, over-current protection, and under-voltage lockout and operates over a voltage range of 8 V to 35 V. The 28-pin TSSOP packaging of the A4989SLDTR-T makes it suited for use in a range of stepper motor control applications.
