LT1117-5 Description
A positive low dropout regulator with a maximum 800mA output current capability is the LT?1117. The device comes with fixed output voltages of 2.85V, 3.3V, and 5V, as well as an adjustable version. Specifically for use in Active Terminators for the SCSI bus, the 2.85V version was created. All internal circuitry is built to function at input to output differentials as low as 1V. At 800mA, a maximum 1.2V dropout voltage is guaranteed, with the voltage dropping at lower load currents. The reference/output voltage is adjusted on-chip to within 1%. In order to lessen the strain on the regulator and the power supply circuitry under overload conditions, the current limit is likewise reduced.
