A direct paralleling of devices is possible with the LT3080EMS8E-1 linear regulator, which has a 1.1A low dropout and an integrated ballast resistor that eliminates the requirement for PC board trace resistors. The integrated ballast resistor enables direct paralleling of several devices on a surface mount board for increased output current and power dissipation while maintaining a straightforward and straightforward board structure.
