In an x1 to x1 arrangement, the PEX 8606 architecture provides packet cut-through with a maximum delay of 190ns. This offers full line rate on all ports for low-latency applications like embedded and communications, when combined with a large packet memory and non-blocking internal switch design. Applications can achieve great throughput and performance thanks to the low latency. The device supports a maximum payload size of 2048 bytes in addition to having low latency, allowing the user to obtain even better throughput.
