As a safety precaution, current sensors are placed in 8-SOIC (0.154, 3.90mm Width) packages. Tube protects the current sensors from damage. If the current supplied by the current sensor is greater than 12mA, then the sensor should be faulty. As long as the current sensors are operating, they could supply a voltage of 5.5V. It is expected that a current sensor should supply a current of 12mA nominally. Current sensors should produce a 2mA output.
