AT24MAC402-SSHM-T Description
The 2048 bits of Serial Electrically-Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) provided by the Atmel AT24MAC402 and AT24MAC602 are structured into 256 words of eight bits each and are accessed via an I2C-compatible (2-wire) serial interface. Additionally, AT24MAC402/602 includes a quick and affordable way to get a globally unique MAC or EUI address (EUI-48 or EUI-64). An AT24MAC402 device that is compatible with EUI-48 has a 48-bit EUI address, whereas an AT24MAC602 device that is compatible with EUI-64 has a 64-bit EUI address.
The EUI-48 and EUI-64 addresses can be allocated to a software instance or used as the real physical address of a system hardware device or node.
