There is an optimized performance in this voltage regulator because it utilizes the Tape & Reel (TR) package. There are 8 terminations in this voltage regulator. As a matter of fact, the type of analog IC that this voltage regulator 12v is equipped with is called SWITCHING REGULATOR. In order to save space, this harley voltage regulator is available in the 8-VFDFN Exposed Pad package. In this case, DC DC switching regulator has 1 outputs configured to it.
