The 8-bit microcontroller M68HC11 E series is described in detail in this document (MCUs). These MCUs all incorporate the high-performance, on-chip peripherals of the M68HC11 central processing unit (CPU). All E-series MCUs operate in the same same way, with a few small exceptions. The E-series devices operate at frequencies from 3 MHz to dc with extremely low power consumption thanks to a totally static design and a high-density complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (HCMOS) production technique.
