The MC9S12A256BCPV is a 16-bit microcontroller that runs at a maximum frequency of 50MHz and is based on an improved HCS12X CPU with CISC architecture. The MC9S12A256BCPV has 59 general-purpose I/O pins, an 8-channel 12-bit A/D converter, 512kB internal flash, 32kB internal RAM, and 4kB EEPROM. Other peripherals included in this device include an inter-integrated circuit (IIC) bus module, a multi-scalable controller area networks (MSCAN) CAN 2.0 A/B software compliant module, and two serial communications interfaces (SCI), and three serial peripheral interface modules (SPI).
