MC9S12DG256MPVE, developed by NXP Semiconductors / Freescale, belongs to the family of S12D automotive and industrial microcontrollers (MCUs) composed of standard on-chip peripherals. The performance and power consumption are adjustable to meet specific operational requirements through the inclusion of a phase-lock loop (PLL) circuit. Because the external bus is able to operate in an 8-bit narrow mode, single 8-bit wide memory can be interfaced for lower-cost systems.
