S9S12VR48AF0VLCR Description
The MC9S12VR-Family is a range of 16-bit automotive microcontrollers that has been tuned for cheap cost, excellent performance, and few pins. This family incorporates a relay driver, high-side driver outputs, wake up inputs, an S12 microcontroller with a LIN Physical interface, a 5V regulator system to power the microcontroller, and analog blocks to control other system components that work at the vehicle battery level. Target markets for the MC9S12VR-Family include general automotive applications that demand single node LIN communications. These applications typically include, among others, sunroof modules, seat modules, and window lift modules.
Many of the features found on the MC9S12G family are also used by the MC9S12VR family. These features include error correction code (ECC) on flash memory, EEPROM for diagnostic or data storage, a quick analog-to-digital converter (ADC), and a frequency modulated phase locked loop (IPLL) that enhances EMC performance. By combining a number of essential system components into a single device, the MC9S12VR-Family optimizes system architecture and achieves significant space savings. The MC9S12VR-Family maintains the low cost, power consumption, EMC, and code-size efficiency advantages now experienced by users of Freescale's existing 8-bit and 16-bit MCU families while delivering all the benefits and efficiencies of a 16-bit MCU.
