SI7211-B-00-IVR Description
A chopper-stabilized Hall element, a low-noise analog amplifier, and a 13-bit analog to digital converter are all components of Silicon Labs' Si7211/2/3/4/5/6/7 family of Hall-effect sensors. The magnetic field data is supplied in analog form following A/D conversion. Depending on the part number, PWM or SENT format may be used. The Si721x family combines digital signal processing to enable exact compensation for temperature and offset drift by leveraging Silicon Labs' tried-and-true CMOS design methodologies.
The Si721x family of Hall-effect sensors has industry-leading sensitivity and low noise compared to conventional Hall-effect sensors, enabling usage with bigger air gaps and smaller magnets.
The Si721x devices come in the most basic form in 3-pin SOT23 or TO92 packages with power, ground, and a single output pin that outputs a signal in analog, PWM, or SENT format that corresponds to the magnetic field.
The Si721x devices are also available in 8 pin DFN(coming soon) and 5 pin SOT23(coming soon) packages, where the extra pins can be utilized for built-in self-test (BISTb) or sleep mode (DIS) or to activate an on-chip coil.
