A quad-channel digital isolator from Silicon Labs, the SI8640BA-B-IUR, offers bidirectional communication between two sides of an isolated circuit as well as improved electrical isolation. It has an isolation voltage of 1.5 kV RMS and a maximum data throughput of 150 Mbps per channel. I2C, SMBus, and PMBus are just a few of the protocols and standards that the device is compatible with. It is perfect for applications needing electrical isolation in both portable and non-portable electronic equipment thanks to its low power consumption, wide operating temperature range, and small package size.
