KD1084AV25 Description

The KD1084 is a LOW DROP Voltage Regulator with a 5A maximum output current capacity. At the highest output current, dropout is guaranteed to occur at a maximum of 1.5V; it gets smaller at lower loads. The KD1084 has superior drop and output tolerance performance than the earlier 3-terminal adjustable regulators, but is pin-to-pin compatible with them.

SCSI-2 active termination is compatible with a 2.85V output version. Instead of being squandered as quiescent current like in PNP regulators, quiescent current in the KD1084 goes into the load, increasing efficiency. For stability, only a 10 F minimum capacitor is required.
