L5973D013TR Description


Depending on the application requirements, the L5973D step-down monolithic power switching regulator can send more than 2 A of DC current to the load with a minimum switch current limit of 2.5 A. From 1.235 V to 35 V can be selected as the output voltage. The high current level is also made possible by an exposed-frame SO8 package, which allows for a reduction in Rth(j-amb) to about 40 °C/W.

To reduce the size of the external components, the device uses an internal P-channel D-MOS transistor (with a typical Rdson of 250 m) as the switching element. 250 kHz is the fixed switching frequency set by an internal oscillator.
