STSPIN32F0 Description
The STSPIN32F0 is a System-In-Package that offers a complete solution for operating three-phase BLDC motors in various modes. It has a triple half-bridge gate driver that can drive power MOSFETs or IGBTs up to 600 mA in current (sink and source). Due to an incorporated interlocking function, the high- and low-side switches of the same half-bridge cannot be driven high at the same time. The 3.3 V voltage required to power both the MCU and external components is provided by an inbuilt DC/DC buck converter. The supply voltage for gate drivers is provided by an internal LDO linear regulator. The analog Hall-effect sensors and the shunt resistor signal can be signal-conditioned using the integrated operational amplifiers. The overcurrent protection is handled by a comparator with a programmable threshold. The integrated MCU (STM32F031C6 with expanded temperature range, suffix 7 version) enables field-oriented control, the 6-step sensorless driving algorithm, and other advanced driving algorithms, such as the speed control loop. The embedded Flash memory provides write-protection and read-protection features to prevent unauthorized writing and/or reading. The STSPIN32F0 device also has overtemperature and undervoltage lockout protections, as well as the ability to go into standby mode to save power. The device includes 16 general-purpose I/O ports (GPIO) with a 5 V tolerant capability, one 12-bit analog-to-digital converter with up to 9 channels capable of singleshot or scan conversions, 5 synchronizable general-purpose timers, and an easy-to-use debugging serial interface (SWD).
