Description
The BQ51013BRHLR is a single-chip, sophisticated, adaptable secondary-side device for wireless power transfer in portable applications with a 5 W output. The BQ51013BRHLR devices enable AC-to-DC power conversion and regulation for the receiver (RX), as well as digital control to conform with the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) Qi v1.2 communication protocol. The BQ51013BRHLR, when used in conjunction with the BQ50012A primary-side controller (or another Qi transmitter), creates a comprehensive contactless power transfer system for a wireless power supply solution. The Qi v1.2 protocol is used to establish global feedback from the secondary to the primary in order to govern the power transfer process.
To achieve excellent efficiency and low power dissipation, the BQ51013BRHLR incorporates a low-resistance synchronous rectifier, a low-dropout regulator (LDO), digital control, and accurate voltage and current loops.
In addition, the BQ51013BRHLR contains a digital controller that determines the amount of power received by the mobile device while staying within the WPC v1.2 standard's restrictions. The controller then sends this information to the transmitter (TX), allowing the TX to detect if a foreign object is present within the magnetic interface and so increasing the magnetic field's safety. The Foreign Object Detection (FOD) method is part of the WPC v1.2 specification's requirements.
