Description
The DRV8301DCA is a three-phase motor drive gate driver integrated circuit. Three half-bridge drivers are provided, each capable of driving two N-channel MOSFETs. The DRV8301DCA has a source current of up to 1.7 amps and a peak current of 2.3 amps. The DRV8301DCA can be powered by a single power supply ranging from 6-V to 60-V. To support a 100 percent duty cycle, the device combines a bootstrap gate driver architecture with trickle charge circuitry. To avoid current flow, the DRV8301DCA uses automated handshaking when the high-side or low-side MOSFET switches. To safeguard the external power stage from overcurrent circumstances, integrated VDS monitoring of the high-side and low-side MOSFETs is used.
For reliable current measurement, the DRV8301DCA features two current shunt amplifiers. The amplifiers feature bidirectional current sensing and have a 3 V output offset that may be adjusted.
An integrated switching mode buck converter with configurable output and switching frequency are also included in the DRV8301DCA. To meet MCU or other system power needs, the buck converter may give up to 1.5 A.
