For improved closed-loop performance in real-time control applications such as industrial motor drives, solar inverters and digital electricity, electrical vehicles and transportation, motor control, and sensing and signal processing, C2000TM 32-bit microcontrollers are available.
A potent 32-bit floating-point microcontroller unit (MCU), the F280049PMS enables designers to combine nonvolatile memory, critical control peripherals, and distinct analogs on a single piece of hardware.
The 32-bit C28x CPU from TI, which offers 100 MHz of signal processing speed, forms the foundation of the real-time control subsystem. The new TMU extended instruction set, which enables quick execution of algorithms with trigonometric operations frequently found in transforms and torque loop calculations, and the VCU-I extended instruction set, which lowers the latency for complex math operations typically found in encoded applications, are two additional enhancements to the C28x CPU.
Common tasks can be offloaded significantly from the primary C28x CPU thanks to the CLA. With the CPU, the CLA works in parallel as a separate 32-bit floating-point math accelerator. The CLA can also directly access the essential peripherals needed in a conventional control system and has its own dedicated memory resources. Standard features include hardware breakpoints, hardware task-switching, and support for a subset of ANSI C.
