Description
Over the whole temperature range, the LM2941S positive voltage regulator can source 1 A of output current with a mean dropout voltage of 0.5 V and a maximum of 1 V. A quiescent current reduction circuit has also been implemented, which reduces the ground pin current when the voltage difference between the input and output voltage exceeds about 3 V. With 1 A of output current and a 5 V input-output difference, the quiescent current is only 30 mA. Only when the regulator is in the dropout mode (VIN ? VOUT ≤ 3 V) do higher quiescent currents exist.
