A Tape & Reel (TR) package is used in this voltage regulator to optimize performance. There are 5 terminations in this harley voltage regulator. As a matter of fact, the type of analog IC that this voltage regulator 12v is equipped with is called SWITCHING REGULATOR. Space-saving SC-74A, SOT-753 packages are available for this harley voltage regulator. In this case, DC DC switching regulator has 1 outputs configured to it. Switching regulators like this one can be mounted on the Surface Mount mounting system.
