MSP430FR2000IPW16 Product Details
MSP430FR2000IPW16 Description
The value line sensing portfolio for MSP430TM microcontrollers (MCUs) includes the MSP430FR2000 and MSP430FR21xx devices. This family of ultra-low-power, low-cost MCUs features a variety of packaging configurations, including a tiny 3-mm by 3-mm VQFN package, with memory capacities ranging from 0.5 KB to 4 KB of FRAM unified memory. In portable, battery-powered sensing applications, the architecture, FRAM, integrated peripherals, and extensive low-power modes are designed to achieve longer battery life. Devices like the MSP430FR2000 and MSP430FR21xx provide a path for 8-bit designs to upgrade and add peripheral integration, data logging, and low-power FRAM functionalities. Additionally, to improve performance and gain the advantages of FRAM, current designs using MSP430G2x MCUs can switch to the MSP430FR2000 and MSP430F21xx family.
Maximum code efficiency is achieved by the MSP430FR2000 and MSP430FR21xx MCUs' potent 16-bit RISC CPU, 16-bit registers, and constant generator. Additionally, the device can wake up from low-power modes to active mode, often in less than 10 s, thanks to the digitally controlled oscillator (DCO). The feature set of this MCU satisfies the requirements of applications ranging from smoke alarms and battery monitoring to appliance battery packs and exercise equipment.
