TPS51116PWPRG4 Description


The TPS51116PWPRG4 offers a full power supply for memory systems using DDR/SSTL-2, DDR2/SSTL-18, DDR3/SSTL-15, DDR3L, LPDDR3 and DDR4. It incorporates a 3-A sink/source tracking linear regulator, synchronous buck controller, and buffered low noise reference. In systems when space is at a premium, the device delivers the lowest total cost of ownership. The synchronous controller operates fixed 400 kHz, pseudo-constant frequency PWM with adaptive on-time control that may be set to either current mode or D-CAPTM Mode for ceramic output capacitor support and the quickest transient response. Only 20-F (2 10 F) of ceramic output capacitance is needed for the 3-A sink/source LDO to retain quick transient response. Additionally, the externally accessible LDO supply input greatly lowers the overall power losses. The TPS51116PWPRG4 supports all sleep state controls, discharging VDDQ, VTT, and VTTREF (soft-off) in S4/S5, and suspending to RAM with VTT at high-Z in S3 (suspend to disk). The component is available in two different packages: a 20-pin HTSSOP PowerPADTM package and a 24-pin 4 4 QFN. It has all the protection features, including thermal shutdown.
