Description


A synchronous boost converter with a 0.5-V ultra-low input voltage is the TPS61023DRLT device. The gadget offers a way to power portable electronics and smart devices that are run by different batteries and supercapacitors. The usual valley switches current limit for the TPS61023DRLT across the whole temperature range is 3.7-A. The TPS61023DRLT provides supercapacitor backup power applications, which may deeply discharge the supercapacitor, with a wide input voltage range of 0.5 V to 5.5 V.

When the input voltage is more than 1.5 V, the switching frequency of the TPS61023DRLT is 1 MHz. When the input voltage falls below 1.5 V down to 1 V, the switching frequency steadily drops to 0.5 MHz. When under light load, the TPS61023DRLT switches to power-saving mode to retain high efficiency throughout the whole load current range. In light load conditions, the TPS61023DRLT draws a 20-μA quiescent current from VOUT. In order to preserve battery life, the TPS61023DRLT shuts down fully removed from the input power and uses just 0.1-μA of electricity. The TPS61023DRLT includes an output short circuit, thermal shutdown, and 5.7-V output overvoltage protection.

The TPS61023DRLT offers a very small solution size with a 1.2-mm × 1.6-mm SOT563 (DRL) package and a minimum amount of external components.
