Description
The TPS63030DSKR device is a power supply for goods that use two- or three-cell alkaline, NiCd, or NiMH batteries, or a one-cell Li-ion or Li-polymer battery. When using a single-cell Li-ion or Li-polymer battery, output currents can reach 600 mA when discharged to 2.5 V or lower. To achieve optimal efficiency, the buck-boost converter is based on a fixed-frequency, pulse width modulation (PWM) controller with synchronous rectification. The converter enters power-saving mode at low load currents to maintain high efficiency throughout a wide load current range. The converter can be forced to operate at a fixed switching frequency if the power save option is disabled.
The maximum average current in the switches is usually limited to 1000 mA. The output voltage can be customizable or fixed on the chip using an external resistor divider. To save battery life, the converter can be turned off. The load is separated from the battery during shutdown.
The TPS63030DSKR devices work in a temperature range of –40°C to 85°C in open air. The devices come in a 10-pin VSON package with dimensions of 2.5 mm x 2.5 mm (DSK).
