Description
The TPS63060DSCT device is a power supply for products that use three-cell to six-cell alkaline, NiCd, or NiMH batteries, as well as one-cell or dual-cell Li-Ion or Li-polymer batteries. When using a dual-cell Li-Ion or Li-polymer battery, output currents can reach 2 A and drain to 5 V or lower. To achieve optimal efficiency, the buck-boost converter is based on a fixed frequency, pulse width modulation (PWM) controller with synchronous rectification. The converter enters power-save mode at low load currents to maintain high efficiency over a wide load current range. The converter can be forced to operate at a fixed switching frequency if the power saves feature is disabled. The switches' maximum average current is limited to a typical value of 2.25 A. The output voltage can be customizable or fixed on the chip using an external resistor divider. To save battery life, the converter can be turned off. The load disconnects from the battery during the shutdown.
The devices come in a 10-pin WSON (DSC) package with dimensions of 3 mm x 3 mm.
