Description
Low-dropout (LDO) linear regulators like the TPS74401RGWR provide an easy-to-use, reliable power-management solution for a wide range of applications. By decreasing capacitive inrush current on startup, the user-programmable soft-start reduces stress on the input power supply. The soft-start feature is consistent, making it ideal for powering a wide range of CPUs and application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). External regulators can be easily sequenced using the enable input and power-good output. The customer can create a solution that fits the sequencing needs of field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), digital signal processors (DSPs), and other applications with special start-up requirements thanks to this total flexibility.
Overload, line, temperature, and process, a precision reference and error amplifier provide 1% accuracy. Without an output capacitor or ceramic output capacitors, the TPS74401RGWR series of LDOs is stable. From TJ = –40°C to 125°C, the device family is fully described. The TPS74401RGWR is available in two 20-pin tiny VQFN packages (a 5-mm × 5-mm RGW package and a 3.5-mm × 3.5-mm RGR package), which results in a very small total solution size. The DDPAK (KTW) package is also available for applications that demand more power dissipation.
