Low-dropout regulators with integrated power-on reset and power good (PG) functions are the TPS773xx and TPS774xx. These devices (TPS77333, TPS77433) can deliver 250 mA of output current with a 200 mV dropout. Quiescent current is 92 A at maximum load and drops to 1 A when the gadget is turned off.
These devices are designed to operate reliably with a variety of output capacitors, including tantalum capacitors with low capacitance (1 F) and ceramic capacitors with low ESR (10 F). These devices operate at extremely low noise levels (55 Vrms) without the addition of any filter capacitors. The TPS773xx and TPS774xx are built to respond quickly to bigger load current changes.
