Low quiescent current (IQ) is critical in automobile battery-connected applications to save energy and improve battery life. For always-on systems, ultra-low IQ must be included. The TPS7B8250QDGNRQ1 is a low-dropout linear regulator that can handle input voltages ranging from 3 to 40 volts (45-V load dump protection). The TPS7B8250QDGNRQ1 can operate at 3 V and continue to function through cold-crank and start-and-stop circumstances. This device is ideal for powering microcontrollers (MCUs) and CAN/LIN transceivers in standby systems, with a typical quiescent current of only 2.7 A at a light load. Short-circuit and overcurrent protection are built into the gadget. This gadget works in temperatures ranging from –40°C to +125°C in the ambient and –40°C to +150°C in the junction. This gadget also employs thermally conductive packaging to allow for long-term operation despite high heat dissipation. The gadget is developed as a power source for numerous automotive applications because of these features.
