UC2834QTR Description
The design of low input-output differential linear regulators is optimized for the UC1834 family of integrated circuits. High-output current designs that use an external pass device are made possible by a high-gain amplifier with outputs that can deliver 200mA as a sink or source drives. Either polarity of the regulator can be used with both positive and negative precision references. Currents in either the positive or negative supply lines can be detected and limited using a current-sensing amplifier with a low, programmable threshold.
A fault monitoring circuit is also included in this set of components, and it can detect both under and over-voltage fault situations. For either failure situation, this circuitry outputs a fault alarm after a user-defined time for transient rejection. A 100mA crowbar output is activated in the over-voltage condition. The driver outputs can be turned off by using an over-voltage latch, which will also maintain the crowbar output. One input that serves as both a supply reset and a remote shutdown terminal can accommodate system control for the device. These dies have an inherent thermal shutdown function that protects them from excessive power dissipation.
