UCC27517 Single Channel Gate Driver Description
The UCC27517 single-channel, high-speed, low-side gate driver device can drive MOSFET and IGBT power switches effectively. UCC27517 can source and sink high peak-current pulses into capacitive loads with rail-to-rail drive capability and extremely short propagation delay, typically 13 ns, thanks to an inherently low shoot-through current design.
At VDD = 12 V, the UCC27517 has a peak-drive current capability of a 4-A source, and a 4-A sink (symmetrical drive). The UCC27517 is intended to operate over a broad VDD range of 4.5 to 18 V and a temperature range of –40°C to 140°C. Outside of the VDD operating range, internal under-voltage lockout (UVLO) circuitry on the VDD pin keeps the output low. The ability to operate at low voltage levels, such as less than 5 V, combined with best-in-class switching characteristics, makes it ideal for driving emerging wide band-gap power-switching devices such as GaN power semiconductor devices.
