To prevent damage to the PTC thermistors, they are packaged in 0805 (2012 Metric) packages. PTC thermistors are packaged in the Tape & Reel (TR) as a safety measure. Temperature -55°C is the minimum operating temperature for PTC thermistors. This thermistor must not operate above 150°C in order for it to work. A thermistor has 2 pins. A PTC thermistor could provide 40V voltage when operating. If the thermistor is unable to transfer and conduct this power loss without overheating, then it should have a maximum capability of 100mW. When PTC thermistors produce heat, they should be at 100mW.
