In order to protect these photodiodes from damage, they are packaged in the Bulk. In order to ensure safety, the photodiodes are packaged in Side View packages. Continuous reverse-bias means the photodiodes can withstand only 50V voltage. A continuous voltage of 50V should not be applied to the photodiodes in reverse-bias mode. When no light is input, a photodiode will conduct at 5nA current.
