Photodiodes are protected from damage by the Tray package. In order to ensure safety, the photodiodes are packaged in TO-46-2 packages. As long as the photodiodes are operated continuously in reverse-bias mode, the maximum voltage they can tolerate is 5V. It is important that the reverse-bias voltage of the photodiodes do not exceed 5V continuously. For photodiodes to function properly, the temperature should not exceed 85°C. However, the minimum operating temperature for the photodiodes should be set at -30°C. The photodiode operates at 50pA current even in the absence of light input.
