A Bulk package protects these photodiodes from damage. It is necessary to enclose the photodiodes in TO-46-3 Metal Can packages for safety purposes. A photodiode can withstand a maximum voltage of 160V when operating in reverse-bias mode continuously. When operating in reverse-bias mode, the photodiodes should not exceed 160V. A photodiode occurs even at 400pA current without light input.
