TPS54331DR Description
The TPS54331DR is a nonsynchronous buck converter with a low RDS(on) high-side MOSFET that operates at 28 V and 3 A. A pulse skipping Eco-mode feature is automatically enabled to optimize efficiency under light loads. Additionally, the device's 1-A shutdown supply-current enables it to be employed in battery-powered applications. Current mode control with inbuilt slope compensation decreases component count and simplifies external compensation calculations while allowing the use of ceramic output capacitors. The hysteresis of the input undervoltage lockout is programmed using a resistor divider. During startup and transient conditions, an overvoltage transient protection circuit prevents voltage overshoots. In the event of an overload condition, a cycle-by-cycle current-limit system, frequency foldback, and thermal shutdown protect the device and the load.
