IR3580MTRPBF Description


A single-loop digital multi-phase buck controller called the IR3580 can manage up to 8 phases. The IR3580 adheres strictly to the requirements of Intel? VR12 and VR12.5 Rev 1.3 PWM.

To provide high efficiency at the lowest possible cost across the whole load range, the IR3580 incorporates IR's Efficiency Shaping Technology. Based on the actual load current, IR Variable Gate Drive adjusts the MOSFET gate drive voltage. Depending on the load current, IR's Dynamic Phase Control adds or drops phases. The IR3580 can be set up to switch into automatic or manual 1 or 2-phase operation, as well as active diode simulation mode. Output bulk capacitors are minimized by IR's proprietary non-linear digital PWM algorithms-based Adaptive Transient Algorithm (ATA).
